Overview

The Rupin Pass Trek is a classic high-altitude Himalayan adventure, crossing from Uttarakhand to Himachal Pradesh. Famous for its ever-changing scenery, dramatic waterfalls, hanging villages, snow bridges, and the thrilling pass crossing, it’s a favorite among seasoned trekkers. The trek offers a blend of challenge, beauty, and cultural immersion.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Dehradun to Dhaula (Drive – 200 km) – Scenic drive along the Yamuna and Tons rivers. Overnight in Dhaula (5,100 ft).
  • Day 2: Dhaula to Sewa (Trek – 11 km) – Trek through forests and villages. Stay in Sewa (6,300 ft).
  • Day 3: Sewa to Jiskun (Trek – 10 km) – Cross the Rupin River, ascend to Jiskun (7,700 ft).
  • Day 4: Jiskun to Udaknal (Trek – 11 km) – Trek through mixed forests, reach Udaknal (10,000 ft).
  • Day 5: Udaknal to Dhanderas Thatch (Trek – 9 km) – Trek through meadows, cross snow bridges, camp at Dhanderas (11,700 ft).
  • Day 6: Dhanderas Thatch to Upper Waterfall Camp (Trek – 4 km) – Steep climb, camp at Upper Waterfall (13,100 ft).
  • Day 7: Upper Waterfall Camp to Rupin Pass (15,250 ft) to Ronti Gad (Trek – 12 km) – Cross the pass, descend to Ronti Gad (13,400 ft).
  • Day 8: Ronti Gad to Sangla (Trek – 12 km) – Descend to Sangla (8,600 ft), trek ends. Drive to Shimla or onward destination.
